Next Level Professional Development is transformative learning. Providing an opportunity for people to increase self-awareness, identify personal styles and behaviours, obtain feedback and set clear goals for the future. It helps people empower themselves by gaining a better understanding of how their beliefs, values, thinking, feelings and behaviour impacts themselves and others.
The program assists performance by building on and increasing awareness in the areas of the self, others and the environment. The learning increases depth of consciousness and awareness for improvement in internal and external effectiveness.
The program aims to meet specific outcomes, however the process is collaborative and flexible allowing adjustments to the outcomes, structure and timeliness. Facilitated sessions and time for individual personal reflection assist in clarifying needs and outcomes. The program outline is developed and adapted to suit the needs and requirements of participants.
Consisting of three phases (ten sessions), people work through the process of reflection on their past and present ways of being, examining their thinking, feelings and behaviours. Learning and discoveries are documented, building a picture of self and relationships. Strategies, tools and resources for planning and change are discussed and used as appropriate. Setting and sorting goals for change, then consolidate the process.
To assist in reflection, information gathering and feedback, people are required to complete activities between each session. Session dates, times and tasks are negotiated on an on-going basis and adjusted to suit needs.
Various theoretical models and frameworks for reflection are used. Reflective practice is assisted by the use of a journal, session ‘Learning Logs’ and other appropriate tools. Critical Reflection is used and embedded within the process.
Confidentiality is maintained to professional standards and to meet legal requirements. A working agreement is discussed and documented at the start of the program to set guidelines for maintaining confidentiality and to assist open communication.
